The Genius

No time to write anything up right now, but if you don’t listen to any old shit at least take a listen to this album: Liquid Swords by GZA/Genius. Lay back, puff an L, and check out one of the best Wu-Tang albums there is. I can listen to track 7-13 ten times straight.

  14. Gangsta Therapy ft. Kool G Rap
  15. G-Unit Till I Die

“They call him Mazaradi F, Mazaradi O, Mazaradi X, with a predicate flow”

I’m definitely feeling South Side Jamaica’s Mazaradi FOX. His lyrics are good, and he holds his own (most of the time) on the tracks. His voice isn’t the best for rapping, but neither are half of the guys out there. While hes no Lloyd Banks, he definitely can lay down a few good tracks. 50 Cent and the G-Unit camp did a good job with this old friend, but new recruit.

A suggestion to Mazaradi: Sound like you are alive! He mumbles a little bit, and some of the time sounds like hes asleep. Maybe he’s just slow? I’m sure that he would sound much better if he would wake up a little bit. Lay off the bars when you are in the studio man…

The Mixtape:

Whoo Kid keeps it hot as always on this tape, with some good tracks from FOX. 50 Cent and Prodigy are great on this Mixtape as always. No appearances from Banks, Yayo or Havoc… He could have thrown something in there. The other guests didn’t give us anything great to listen to; Who the hell are Rich Dinero and Image?

50 Cent says the stupidest shit on Mixtapes, doesn’t he?

“I don’t hang out with niggas. I hang out with professionals.
It’s not G-Unit, Its the Jew-Unit nigga.”

Standouts:

1. Pop My Heaters (This has been out since March, but still good)
5. Two Twelve Wit Me
7. Shot Stab Cut Niggas – Awesome Beat, my favorite track on the CD. Maybe.
10. No Drama ft. Prodigy – Hot Hot Hot. Also on the White Owl Mixtape. P spits fire and Mazi helps him out a *little* bit
11. V-12 Dum Out ft. 50 Cent – Good lyrics, could be better if he showed some more effort reciting the words on the page in front of him
12. Transporter ft. Maino & Uncle Murda

The End:

It’s a good Mixtape, check it out especially if you are a fan of the UNIT. I don’t know if I’ll be listening to this over and over like Whoo Kid’s other tapes, but its good to hear from this artist before he drops an LP. Imagine what kind of commercial shit 50 Cent is going to do with his protégé’s album. Listen to this with an open mind.

A last note: 50’s project Mazaradi FOX is much better than Eminem’s up and coming Ca$his. The County Hound EP blows.

3.5/5

My Take on it:

This Mixtape is definitely hot, 100% worth checking out. Many unheard tracks plus many old but great tracks. Normally I would complain about old tracks, but White Owl isn’t the In-House DJ so I can imagine how few tracks he gets. A must have for all G-Unit heads. Bump this tape in the hoopty for about a week.

The Guests are pretty good; Queens natives Mazaradi Fox and Ali Vegas are only on one track each, but their presence is definitely felt on the tape. My favorite G-Unit member Lloyd Banks has been absent for a while now. Prodigy shows off on a couple of solo tracks, but where is Havoc?
Did something happen to The Infamous Mobb Deep that I missed?

Notable Tracks:

12. ‘99 Freestyle (an old favorite)
13. Officer Down Pt. 2 ft. Kardinal Offishal
14. Pop My Haters ft. Mazaradi Fox
16. Straight Murder ft. Prodigy
19. Throwback Freestyle ft. Ali Vegas (HOT!)
21. Prodigy – Take It To The Top
22. Prodigy – Nickel and a Nine
23. I Got Hoes ft. Hot Rod (I think this is from G-Unit Radio 22 last summer)
24. Prodigy – Bonus Track

I’ll hook DJ White Owl up with a 4/5. I’ll even put a copy in my car.
I’m Out,
